The Dolls’ Dressmaker, Part 1

“Dolls; that’s all,” said Jenny, shortly. “Very difficult to fit too, because their figures are so uncertain. You never know where to expect their waists.” (Our Mutual Friend, by Charles Dickens, Book II, Chapter 5)

I wrote recently that I was sewing a wardrobe of clothes for five 18” dolls. Here is the first batch of pictures of them. (Sorry about the poor quality photos, I took most of them in a hurry and in poor lighting.) This was a very interesting and enjoyable project! It was fun to design outfits and to have a variety of material and trim to work with.

  1. Adorable outfits! I love the little details you put on the edges of the tops and bottoms.
